Welcome to Solid Mechanics and Wave Propagation Group

    (SMWP Group)

The Solid Mechanics and Wave Propagation Group focuses on advancing the understanding of wave behaviour in smart, complex, and layered composite materials. The group specializes in applied mathematics, computational mechanics, and electro-elasto-dynamics, with emphasis on piezoelectric, flexoelectric, and multiferroic structures. The research integrates analytical modeling and numerical techniques to study how mechanical, electrical, and multi-field interactions influence wave propagation, dispersion, and transmission. Applications span smart materials, sensing technologies, piezoelectric devices, and layered structural systems. Committed to both theoretical development and practical relevance, the group fosters a collaborative environment for students and researchers interested in wave mechanics, smart materials, and advanced mathematical modeling.
